IEC - Who are we?
The Industrial Educational Co-operative (IEC) is an organization
established by 23 industrial companies in the Sarnia-Lambton area of South
Western Ontario and Lambton College.

We work together with over150 Contractors who service our sites to collectively and co-operatively improve the safety performance of our plants.
Our mission is to train people in all work environments to implement and sustain Best Practices performance improvement processes. We are actively involved in promoting the initiatives that come from the Safety Partnership. This Partnership is comprised of Labour, Contractors and Industry, working together to achieve our goal of Zero Injuries by Choice.
We will achieve our goal by using tools such as:
- Observation Based Safety
- Pre-job Safety Analysis Cards called TASC
- A Standardized Method of Near-miss Reporting
- Root Cause Analysis Investigation of incidents at member sites
- Safety management Assessment (Health and Safety profile)
All our instructors are seasoned professionals with many years of experience in the safety field. Their wealth of expertise and knowledge is available to support you as you implement the Best Practice processes in your place of business.
